Hair restoration, also known as a hair transplant, is a very precise procedure that over the years has become less and less invasive. When artistically done by an experienced team, it looks completely natural and is virtually impossible to detect.
Hair restoration has become a very easy, safe surgical procedure that works on both men and women who are experiencing thinning hair or complete hair loss or baldness.
Hair restoration today is a wonderful procedure for anyone from 18 to 80, and it provides phenomenal results for men as well as women. If your hair loss is on your mind, it is usually because it is not on your head.
At Regency Hair Restoration, the FUE procedure typically takes about 6 hours, depending on the number of grafts.
The hair restoration uses a local anesthesia call Lidocaine. This is similar to what a dentist uses, which is Novocain. You are awake during the entire procedure unless you decide to nap, and we normally have lunch together since it is a long day. Most patients watch movies while waiting for the procedure to be completed.
Those who do not have enough donor area to get hair from and those with limited donor hair who have expectations that cannot be realized. Today, we at Regency have mastered the technique, so for those with limited donor hair, we can use neck hair or chest and/or back hair.
Results are amazing, and usually in men they will last for the rest of your life. This is the same for women, although occasionally woman may thin in their mid- to late-70s.
This depends on how much hair you have when we do the procedure, as well as your genetic make-up and how much hair you are destined to lose. If you have a lot of hair, you will probably lose more, but if you are almost or completely bald, then you don’t really have more to lose.
Rest and avoid exertion for three or four days. Sleep in a recliner or with some pillows propped up under your head for at least three days after your surgery. You will receive post-op medication that should be used for proper healing and faster growth.
About a week after, although most people feel good enough to go to dinner or work in about one or two days.
Temporary minor swelling and mild discomfort are the most common, but always very limited. Temporary loss of sensation in some area resolves within a few weeks if it occurs, and you may experience some itching during recovery.
Fees depend on the extent of your particular procedure, but a typical hair restoration cost ranges from $4,500 to $12,000, depending on the amount of hair you need and choose to have moved.
